Why we started the Basel Investor Forum

After attending countless global conferences, I found myself asking the same question over and over again: Why do so many events feel like a race to collect business cards, yet rarely result in meaningful partnerships or long-term impact?

I launched the Basel Investor Forum to change that.

As a founder, venture builder, and investor myself, I knew there had to be a better way—a space where trust is built, ideas are challenged, and real opportunities emerge. The Basel Investor Forum is not just another pitch stage. Alain is a health tech venture builder and digital transformation leader with over 20 years of experience across pharma, healthcare technology, and venture capital. As a Partner at Clarma Capital and founder of InnoSense, he advises startups and corporates on scaling digital health solutions, securing investment, and driving innovation. He previously led global digital initiatives at Roche and has mentored over 100 startups in AI, medtech, and precision medicine. Alain supports product-market fit, fundraising, venture building, and intrapreneurship programs, and regularly contributes as a speaker and mentor in the global health tech ecosystem.

Dorine Denjean

Dorine is a private equity and impact investment leader with 15+ years of experience building high-trust, cross-border capital partnerships across Europe and Latin America. She operates at the intersection of finance, human development, and social transformation—connecting family offices, institutional investors, and purpose-driven ventures committed to long-term value creation.

Her expertise spans impact-focused private equity, venture capital, and sustainable infrastructure, with a focus on sectors where innovation and inclusion converge, including sports-driven development, education, and digital inclusion. She blends rigorous financial structuring with deep regional insight and a strong commitment to measurable impact.

Dorine advises founders and institutional partners on governance, capital strategy, investment readiness, and multi-market expansion. At the Basel Investor Forum, she leads Relationship & Investment Management, cultivating strategic alliances and curating investor dialogues that direct capital toward ventures improving lives while delivering resilient returns.

Strategic content Lead & Venture Architect

Sabine Krenn

Sabine is a highly accomplished strategic finance executive & growth architect with over 25 years of experience in a multinational Pharma & MedTech company. At the intersection of strategy, healthcare and planetary health she focuses on financial strategies that drive long-term responsible performance and resilience to advance sustainable impact and value creation. She is an advocate of long term capital stewardship and systemic investing on the basis of cross-sector collaboration and stakeholder engagement. Her expertise includes business turnaround & transformation, M&A integration, financial performance management, agile strategy realization and operational excellence. As a CFO she fuses high-quality ideas with the strategic partners and infrastructure required to scale and bring them to market. She is known for her systems thinking and navigating complexities with clarity, integrity and direction. At the Basel Investor Forum she looks after strategic content creation and is the relationship lead for our distinguished event speakers. In addition she provides strategic and financial go-to-market advice to founders and innovators.

Oday Darwich

Oday Darwich is the CEO of NeoFutureX, a Swiss frontier company building cross-sector ecosystems at the convergence of QuantumAI to enable unbiased decision-making and frontier discovery through trustworthy AI. Guided by the principle Making the Unknown Intelligible, NeoFutureX translates complexity into systems that can be engaged transparently, responsibly, and at scale.

His approach is shaped by hands-on experience in fundamental research environments, including CERN’s IdeaSquare

He is also President of Quantum FutureX and has worked across deep-tech research, early quantum initiatives, and capital-facing institutions such as Pictet and Santander, alongside advisory and board-level roles with mission-driven and UN-affiliated organizations.

Communications & Design Lead

Emilie Coutanson

Emilie Coutanson is a senior pharmaceutical leader with over 15 years of experience across global drug development, and patient-centric innovation. Since 2017, she has played a key role within Life Cycle Teams across immunology and cardiovascular programs at Viatris Innovation and previously at Idorsia, contributing to strategic decision-making from early development through market authorization application. Emilie founded and scaled a global patient council, embedding the patient voice into development strategies. Earlier in her career, Emilie spent seven years at Actelion (now Janssen) in Medical Information and Regulatory Affairs, building a strong foundation in compliance, scientific communication, and stakeholder engagement.
